Warrior Dash–Cliff Hanger

The 6th obstacle of Battle Ground Austin is the Cliff Hanger. Rappel down the steep ravine.

What to Expect

I would expect this to be similar to the muddy climb obstacle from the Forney event, but instead of climb up, you will be going down. I would expect a steep muddy slope that you over to rappel, but either by design or previous runs some nice foot holes to assist down the slope. The height of the slope is unclear to me as I can find any videos or images of this obstacle, but I would expect 6-8ft drop.

Warrior Dash – Rio Run

The 5th obstacle of Battle Ground Austin is the Rio Run – Dash Down a Stream

What to Expect

imageThis is a pretty fun obstacle and will be the first obstacle that will have water. Be prepared to get wet, muddy, and cold. From my previous experience with this obstacle the stream might have some shallow and deep points. When running in the past event, I remember going through a stream of ankle high water and then instantly dropping to near waist high waters without notice.

Warrior Dash – Black Forest

The 9th obstacle of Battle Ground Austin is the Black Forest. Forge your way through uncharted forest.

What to Expect

imageTrail running, how else should it be put. Expect an uneven running terrain with tree roots, dips, stones, and possible low laying branches from trees.

Warrior Dash – Hay Fever

The 3rd obstacle of Battle Ground Austin is Hay Fever. Hustle up and over giant straw hay bales.

What to Expect

imageDuring my previous running of the Warrior Dash I had a chance to experience the Hay Fever obstacle. The hay bales are stacked into a pyramid form for you to climb and overcome. See the image below of runners making it over the obstacle.

Warrior Dash – Junker Jam

The 1st obstacle of Battle Ground Austin is the Junker Jam. Clamber over rusted wrecked junk cars.

What to Expect

imageThis obstacle is going to be new to me as it was in my running of the Warrior Dash. But being to a few paintball parks where there are junkers as part of some fields, I would expect some a few pretty beat up cars to have to hurdle and/or run through. For safety concerns the windows should be removed and the junkers should be secured to the ground somehow to prevent them from moving too much.
