Magic Bullet

Three months from now, as long as things go as planned, we’ll get Battleground Austin. One thing that has resonated with me since the Forney race is the effect something small like a 5K can have on a persons perspective. Regardless of how it was promoted, this race was essentially a “fun run” for all involved completion required almost no physical fitness, and the obstacles were pretty easy for anyone who trained for the event. As the dash nears I have been able to zoom out a bit and simply observe those of us who are “training” for the event. Even though the first Texas race wasn’t as difficult as advertised, those of us going back for round two are training harder. This seems counter-intuitive since I just mentioned the actual work wasn’t killer, however these fun events could be the closest thing to a magic bullet as many folks find.

They don’t work for us but with each different method there are hundreds of people who swear it is the ONLY WAY. Truth is the reason these people found success is because that program caught them at the right time in their life to trigger the magic bullet effect. The effect I am talking about isn’t rocket science, instead it is just the perfect combination of MOTIVATION and CONSISTENCY. The time has to be almost perfect to hit on what I feel like are a handful of opportunities to actually achieve our goals. For a handful of people The Dash will present one of those opportunities to make a change for the better. Read more of this post
